My suggestion is to give the pokemon different poses from the games likes fire red and leaf green sprites or other games. this would give a feel that the trainer has a choice to make their pokemon in certain poses to make the picture better for the judges and pay some homage to the games of old.

Edit: i know pokemon like some of the event pokemon, unova and kalos pokemon does not have old sprites to go back to but maybe if this suggestion goes anywhere the spriters might make new poses for them.

due to the number of old game pokemon sprite that could be used as poses the chances to get them should be set lower than the chance for accessories so people can still get poses but not be flooded by them and not getting any accessories

Carpet(Via Post) and rainbowpride(Via Skype) suggested that people should not get certain poses if you do not have the pokemon to go with them. example: professor joe does not have heatran so there is no chance to find a heatran pose

Some pokemon are too fat/too small and according the pokepose you can use different acessories, because it can fit better. Amazing Idea, It would be very nice to implement a way to resize the items so your pokemon would use every acessory.

I really like that idea! ^^
One thing, though - how will it know what poses it can give you? Having a chance at an alternate pose for all of the first 493 Pokémon (Unova also doesn't have alternate sprites) would most likely make it really unlikely to get one that you actually want or need - especially if getting a pose is instead of getting an accessory from the task.
(Also, how do poses interact with forms? If I got a Platinum Shaymin pose, could I use it on Land Forme and Sky Forme interchangeably, or would it be predetermined and I'd have to get both?)

here is a better question for you carpet how long did it take you to get the supplies for your entries for the contest would it really make a difference? but ri might make it to where the poses them self are game set such as hoenn=r/s/e and sinnoh=d/p pt. i think if its a pokemon that changes form thier pose should be able to change with it.

There are exactly one hundred Accessories and twenty-six Backdrops right now, and all of them can be used on every Pokémon.
There would be 493 poses even if you do only count the first game in which a Pokémon appeared, and each is specific to exactly one Pokémon - you can still get them, but you don't benefit unless that happens to be the specific Pokémon you're using. So I think it would help if there was something to make it easier to get one you need. Like, something that prevents you from getting a pose for a Pokémon you don't have, maybe? That way you at least have the ABILITY to use every pose you get, whether you choose to do so or not. I also think they should be rarer than normal Accessories so that the majority of Accessories you get CAN be used on everything you have.
Also, retro Pokémon already exist, so if someone entered a Pikachu in a retro costume, how would that be different from entering a Retro Pikachu? (Or would the Generation I poses be from Red and GREEN so they're different from our retros?)

Sorry, I'm a tad confused. So you'd find the poses like items? In mystery boxes, or randomly around the site, doing mini games, that kind of thing?

Hmm, maybe half support then. It seems like it would be a lot of work for spriters to do all of this and, I like the idea, really, but would people even notice the change? And we already have the retros which have different sprites. Adding this might decrease their value.

Having a new item like poses to trade, buy, and sell would be good for the site since current prices for valuable items are dropping due to the increased number of them on site, but I'm not sure the idea would be well/easily implemented as is.
