Ever since Mari's death, Hero has felt hollow. She made his life worth living. And without her, even getting out of bed has become an impossible task. But people understand. They leave him alone. They allow him to wither away and cling to his fading memories of her, even as it drags him deeper and deeper into misery.

Only one person seems to bother these days. His younger brother Kel, who disappeared following their first argument since, well... forever.

So while everyone around him seems content to believe that Kel is fine, that he's coming back soon; Hero can't. There's something else going on. Something wrong. What was Aubrey burning at their old meetup spot? Why is Basil hovering around That House? And of course...

Who is The Boy who has haunted his dreams every night since Kel's disappearance?
